Niagara Falls Police responded to Niagara Falls High School around 3:30pm on March 29th after reports that a door/window to the field house and a vehicle were damaged.
Upon arrival, officers observed school staff already repairing the window on the door of door #1, which is next to the garage on the south side of the fieldhouse located behind NFHS. The window to the door was mostly shattered by unknown means. However, entry was not gained by the suspect(s).
Officers then observed a school district work truck that was parked in the parking lot approx. 50 feet west of the fieldhouse, directly behind the soccer/lacrosse fields. The truck, which is a 2019 Ford350 super duty, had its driver window mostly shattered. There was a very large hole in the window as well as two other small holes. The suspect made entry into the truck and then damaged the rearview mirror as well as the screen for the radio, both of which appeared to be hit with an unknown blunt object.
The damage estimate for both the window and truck were unknown at the time of the report. Officers did check around the truck as well as the inside/outside of the fieldhouse and did not observe any further damage.
Officers then responded to the control center at NFHS and watched surveillance video of the incident with security staff and observed the following:
On yesterday's date at 8:14pm, an unknown suspect is observed inside of the truck. He then proceeds towards the fieldhouse with an unknown item in his hand, possibly a hammer, which is when he approaches the door then quickly runs from the door to the path between the soccer and baseball fields. He runs south and eventually into Packard Court where the cameras lose him.
The suspect appears to be an adult male. However, you cannot get a good view of his face. It appears the male is wearing a designer track suit with visible markings on the pant legs as well as the upper left chest area of the jacket. The marking on the jacket appeared possibly be the polo logo with the horse.
No further information is available at this time.
