Buffalo police have identified two men who were fatally shot inside a vehicle in what authorities believe was a targeted attack Sunday night.
Officers responded to reports of a car crash on Cambridge Avenue near Scajaquada Street around 7:3pm. Upon arrival, they discovered two victims with gunshot wounds. One man was pronounced dead at the scene while the other was transported to Erie County Medical Center. He succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter.
The victims have been identified as 41-year-old Shane Jackson of Buffalo and 22-year-old Marwan Ayash of Cheektowaga. Authorities suspect the shooting was intentional.
Buffalo Common Council Member Zeneta Everhart expressed her condolences to the victims’ families and called for community support in solving the crime.
"My heart goes out to all those in our community who have been hurt or traumatized by this senseless crime, and I express my deepest condolences to the families of those who were killed," Everhart stated. "I urge the Buffalo Police Department to conduct a prompt and thorough investigation, and I urge any member of the community who has information on this heinous act to come forward and speak to the authorities."
